THE DURHAM SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL: Macbeth & A Midsummer Night’s Dream

ELYSIUM THEATRE COMPANY IS PROUD TO ANNNOUNCE THE LAUNCH OF

THE DURHAM SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL 2023

To celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the publication of the First Folio of the complete works of Shakespeare, Elysium Theatre Company brings you a powerhouse season of two of Shakespeare’s most famous and popular plays, Macbeth and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Performed with a company of 13 actors in the historic heart of Durham City, with special one-off performances at Ushaw House and Bishop Auckland Town Hall, Elysium brings Shakespeare to the County with a bang.

Working closely with Culture Durham, Durham County Council, the Durham Fringe Festival, Durham University and the English Association,  July will be a month of theatre you will never forget.

Shakespeare’s epic drama of the power of evil. Great warrior Macbeth is given a prophecy that he will be king, and together with his wife will stop at nothing to seize the crown.
