KRAPP’S LAST TAPE:
Every year a writer, Krapp, celebrates his birthday by making a recording of the year’s events. Now an old man, this year he prepares by listening to one he made thirty years before. In so doing he confronts his younger self, his dreams, his hopes and the women he loved…
FOOTFALLS:
A woman paces endlessly, measuring her life in footfalls, revolving the past in her mind until she can make sense of it. As she paces, the presence of her mother watches, a memory, a ghost, longing to reach out.
Nobel Prize-winning playwright Samuel Beckett transformed world drama with his surreal, poetic plays. Most famous for Waiting For Godot and Endgame, his work is presented all over the world. Elysium Theatre Company are proud to bring these two short masterpieces to Durham for the first time as part of the Durham Festival of the Arts.
